One of many jerseys Danny has had over the years...Though this one holds perhaps a bit more Clout and is definitely harder to keep clean. |
When I looked at this I thought health, happiness and supplements play a huge role in an athlete's success and as for the stand of Chupa Chups Lolli's for Cat (Danny's girlfriend) "happy wife means a happy life". Success. |
I was interested to see just how proud the people of the UK were of the newly crowned King, let me to tell you If it wasn't for the name "Danny Hart" on my customs form it could have been a very long day. Here in Danny's hometown of Redcar is one of many blatant shout outs to the king. |
I'll give you one guess at which Magazine was chosen from the Rack... |
Hamsterley Forest before it closes out into a Dark unforgiving funnel of steep roots and rocks. Honestly, the conditions and tracks that Danny has grown up riding for fun could easily rival any of the tracks on the WC circuit today. |
A tight group of operators makes Descend Bike Park a perfect training ground. Owner/Operator Craig Hunter keeps the "uplifts" going. He also shed a little light on Danny's life as a Grom, it seems the kid never had an awkward stage. |
Craig Hunter and his Uplift, a humble man with a vision and a deep routed relationship with Danny. Check out his bike park here www.descend-bikepark.co.uk |
It's not un-common to have a cup in between laps at the park, the boys will take care of you. |
These travel to most world cups with Danny, I guess Rob Warner was right, here they are in all their golden glory. Accurate casting...? |
Bubba squaring off with the champ, I wouldn't doubt that a weigh in puts them in the same class either. |
He's scrappy and disciplined; especially when he has a job to do...and so is Bubba. |
CALTON BANK! What can I say about this place, a virtual roller coaster of a track. The weather rips through this place leaving not much more than the shrubs you see in the foreground. The sprint at the beginning against the wind and rain seemed to give Hart the speed to just absolutely flow through a mild but on point track. I could have spent all day right here at this section watching the weather follow Danny down the ridge. |
The approach at the end of the ridge sprint, you can see Danny setting up to drop in just beyond my right shoulder, "ladies and gentlemen please keep your hands and feet inside the vehicle at all times"... |
One of many opportunities to double down into a set of corners, still battling a highland wind, yet another adaptation done with ease. |
It is what it seems, left to long right. Repeat. |
It's not all pinning DH trails, Danny does have a very strict training regime, one that includes sprints. |
Not too beat a dead horse, but when it just happens, it's my job to bring it to your attention. A lunchtime spot with a fitting name. |
Sr. Hart is a proud man and huge part of why Danny is where he is today, (Jr's praise). Four days spent immersed in Redcar I learned how Danny's support team works. It is a well-oiled machine; with certain amounts of expectation on everyone's plate insures every detail sees attention. And I don't mean just immediate family. |
Anything with two wheels seems to be on the list of exploits, Moto a couple times a week keeps the strength and adjustment to speed on point. |
For most guys' car garages aren't used to protect the grocery getters but to carefully organize their toys and everything needed to maintain them. Danny's Dad has a little spot set aside for a couple race plates, all of which are heavy on the 1-10's. |
The details inside the machine... |

Anyone involved in the World Cup schedule knows time at home is the smallest part of the pie chart. So when the time comes it's important to spend it with the people that sacrifice so much to be a constant part of your life.
